This authorization becomes valid at the moment of signing unless the thesis was declared confidential. The authorization then takes effect when the confidentiality period has terminated.
You may request that your thesis remain confidential if you have serious grounds, for example, a commercial confidentiality agreement or a patent application. The confidentiality status guarantees that neither the document itself, nor its description (author, title, summaries, etc.) will be made available, by any means whatsoever, until the end of the confidentiality period. This status is granted for a maximum of one (1) year, renewable once. At the end of the confidentiality period, the document will be processed according to the provisions of the form, Authorization to index, reproduce and distribute a dissertation or a thesis, unless you have requested a status renewal at least 30 days before the end of the confidentiality period.

To obtain confidentiality, you must have the approval of your thesis supervisor and of your program administration.
You may request that your thesis remain confidential if you have serious grounds, for example, a request from the editor regarding the publication of articles or of books based on the manuscript. A delay in publication guarantees that the document itself will not be made public before the end of the confidentiality period, but the document description (author, title, summaries, etc.) will be made public. This is different from a confidentiality period during which no information is disseminated.

The delay in publication is irrevocable and can be for a period of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or 5 years. At the end of the confidentiality period, the document will be processed according to the provisions of the form, Authorization to index, reproduce and distribute a dissertation or a thesis.

To obtain a delay in publication, you must have the approval of your thesis supervisor and of your program administration.
